A Recipe to Use Essential Oils for Cold Sores

You can use essential oils for cold sore relief!
Do you get cold sores, or know someone who does? They are no fun! Even if you’ve gotten cold sores all your life, they can make you feel very self-conscious when you have to be at work or out and about in public.

Once you feel that telltale tingle in your lip, you know to act quickly. Using your favorite cold sore preventive remedy is often enough to stop a cold sore from emerging, but sometimes the cold sore still appears. (Sometimes it even tricks you and pops up in a completely different place on your lips!)

I have a great recipe that can help to both prevent cold sores, and to speed up your healing if one does show up.

Make your blend in a 1 oz (30 ml) glass bottle. I like amber or cobalt glass for this recipe.

Essential Oils for Cold Sore Relief HERE

  • 1 oz (28 gm) aloe vera gel (Aloe barbadensis)
  • 30 drops Sandalwood essential oil (Santalum paniculatum)
  • 3 drops Eucalyptus essential oil (Eucalyptus radiata)
If you feel a cold sore coming on, apply a dab of this blend directly to the tingling or warm area on your lips. Use it once an hour until the symptoms resolve. You can also use it hourly if you already have a cold sore to reduce the duration of the outbreak.
The ingredients have analgesic properties, so it helps ease the pain too. I recommend making a fresh bottle of this blend every few weeks.
I want to tell you that it’s important to use very high-quality essential oils for cold sores. Anything less could irritate the cold sore. A  sources I like to purchase from: Here
